Lucinda “Lucy” Benavides of Stockdale, Texas passed away on November 14, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas at 96 years, 10 months and 21 days. Lucy was born on January 12, 1920 in Leon Springs, Texas to Indelacio Rivas and Maria (Jamies) Rivas. Lucy was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stockdale as well as St. Mary’s Alter Society. On September 4, 1936 Lucy married Domingo Benavides in Boerne, Texas. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2001. She is also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Emelia Folch, Louisa Padilla, Victoria Armendarez, Helen Rivas, Annie Paniagua, Mercedes Gonzales, Mecidia Olgin and Josephina Olgin; brothers, Phillip Rivas, Joe Rivas, Adolph Olgin and Pete Olgin. Lucy will be dearly missed by her daughters, Virginia Jackson and Ora Lee Cirlos; grandchildren, Charles Jackson, Jacqueline Jackson, Mary Garza, and Stewart Cirlos; great-grandchildren, Brandy Powell, Patricia Jackson, Skyeler Jackson, Taylor Torres and Dayton Schuler; as well as numerous great-great-grandchildren and other loving family. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, Texas; the Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm.
